Find the latest tracks, albums, and images from Global Percussion Percussion Network is a newly formed percussion group whose music is quite different compared to what you normally associate with percussion music. The group mainly base their music on the melodic percussion, Marimba and Vibraphone, and are at the same time very melodic and rhythmic, with a lot of free improvisation and with flavours of jazz. All pieces are arranged in order to also take the advantage of those possibilities that SACD multi-channel surround offers. Global Percussion Network was formed by composer and arranger Anders Astrand, who was one of the musicians behind the very special OrganPercussion album on Opus 3, Live at Vattnajokull Percussion Network Rauk on Hybrid SACD. Global Percussion Network is a newly formed group but quite different from what you normally associate with percussion music. Instead of using a lot of drums, Global Percussion Network is very much based on the sound of the marimba and the vibraphone, and also very often quite melodic. Their music contains at the same time a lot of free improvisation which sometimes makes it difficult to categorise. The way the surround sound is recorded and mixed on this album is somewhat different from what has been made before with acoustic music. Album 2005 10 Songs. Global Percussion. Joseph Gramley.
