The Gap Band II is the fourth studio album contrary to the title by The Gap Band, released in 1979 on Mercury Records. It is their second major label release, and produced by Lonnie Simmons. The album reached 3 on the Black Albums chart and 42 on the Pop Albums chart. The album produced the singles Steppin' Out 10 Black Singles, Party Lights 36 Black Singles, and I Don't Believe You Want to Get up and Dance Oops 4 Black Singles, 52 Club Play Singles. The Gap Band was an American R&B and funk band that rose to fame during the 1970s and 1980s. The band consisted of three brothers Charlie, Ronnie, and Robert Wilson and it was named after streets Greenwood, Archer, and Pine in the historic Greenwood neighborhood in the brothers' hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. After 43 years together, they retired in 2010. The band received its first big break by being the back up band for fellow Oklahoman Leon Russell's Stop All That Jazz album released in 1974. The Gap Band is the major label debut album by The Gap Band, released in 1979 on Mercury Records. It is the group's second self-titled album, and their third album overall. Der Name der Gap Band übrigens steht für die Abkürzung aus den drei Straßennamen ihrer Heimatstadt Tulsa: Greenwood, Archer und Pine. Die Aufnahmequalität der CD ist einwandfrei,da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Mein Fazit: Wer gerne gute Musik, fernab der typischen immer gleichen Radiosongs hört liegt bei Best of the Gap Band nicht CD sollte in keiner guten Musiksammlung fehlen. Mein Fazit: Fünf Sterne von mir für gute, und noch Hand gemachte Musik
